The silica-laden alkaline waters are said to have a softening effects, resulting in a more natural appearance and texture of a ones skin.
From the road it is there to view, however guests cannot enter the waters due to its extreme high temperatures.
The waters are channeled into Wai Ariki, where you can experience bathing first-hand.
