The eighth Wonder of the World, the Pink and White Terraces has historical and great cultural significance to the people of Te Arawa, within the region of the Bay of Plenty, Rotorua.

The terraces were like staircases each filled with warm and hot water that formed along the mountains edge of Tarawera. These mineral-rich healing waters had visitors travelling from across the world.

Before the earthquake, it was one of the most visited sites in the region.

Bathing in these waters gave Māori many health benefits, improving blood flow, reducing pain, swelling and inflammation. Also said to help aid arthritis, rheumatics, eczema and other skin conditions.

A geothermal pool with the healing properties of alkaline water, drawn directly from our ancient Rachel Pool.
